Second grade students from Pike County Elementary School visited Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library in downtown Brundidge recently to learn about local community heroes. Ms. Teresa Trawick introduced local heroes to the students including their teachers, workers from the local utility company, a member of the Pike County Sheriff's office, and other workers in the city. The students had the opportunity to tour the beautiful library and see what it has to offer, take a tour of city hall and hear what goes on there, observe demonstrations of how a backhoe and bucket truck are operated, and get inside a real police vehicle and operate the sirens. The students especially enjoyed watching their teachers ride the bucket truck above the trees and doing the chicken dance with library staff.
