2nd grade classes
|
2nd grade classes at Pike County Elementary School took their learning outside last week. The students made paper airplanes to incorporate into their Language and Math lessons. After making the planes, they ventured outdoors to fly them. After each student threw their plane, they had to pick it up and write a prepositional phrase on the plane that told where it landed. They did this several times and then used what they wrote to form prepositional poems. In Math class they are studying measurement. The students worked with partners to measure how far their planes traveled and to determine the number of inches and feet that would be. The students really enjoyed being outside with this lesson and learned a lot.
