Bio

My name is Jennifer Rhodes and I am a 37 year-old second grade teacher at Pike County Elementary. I have been married to my wonderful husband Chad for 12 years. We have a son, Chandler and a daughter, Jenna Kate. I have wonderful parents who have always been loving and supportive in all of my endeavors. I was born in Orlando, Florida, in December 1981 and moved to Alabama in 1989 when I was in second grade. I attended school in Opp, where I graduated from in May of 2000. Upon graduation from high school, I began my college career at Enterprise Ozark Community College where I received an associate's degree. I transferred to Troy University in the spring of 2003 to begin my education courses and complete my degree. Being a teacher has been my career choice since I was old enough to play school and pretend I was a teacher. The background experiences that have prepared me for my teaching career include academic success and childcare knowledge.

I feel as though my love for children and wanting to make a difference in their lives will help me to be an effective educator. As a teacher, I help my students become the best they can be by providing them with the knowledge they need to face the future. My goal is to help them become lifelong learners and productive members of society.
